CLIENT: CrossFit AxAt (GA)
PURPOSE: Create a graphic for a shirt to honor Lt. Michael "Murph" Murphy
APPLICATION: T-Shirts/Pullovers/Singlets (Tank Tops)

Some of my favorite projects I have ever worked on are those based on Memorial Day Murph events. From shirts, to event banners, posters, and marketing, I take great pride in being able to contribute to such a powerful event.

This year was no different. When CrossFit AxAt reached out to me asking for an apparel graphic for their “Murph” event I jumped at the chance. The added chaos of the current Covid-19 pandemic also greatly increased my desire to create a powerful design for them.

Being located in Georgia, they were one of the first states to ease restrictions on gyms, making this one of the first athletic events I have been able to contribute to in some time. However, we were also working with a short deadline as a result. They mentioned how much they admired a previous design I had done and we’re looking for similar design elements like: the long. and lat. coordinates, “The Protector” text, camouflage and tactical design elements, and of course the gym name and location. Out of respect for my previous client (and my own personal challenge to create a fresh and equally impressive graphic) I didn’t want to use the ‘bones’ of the previous design and just switch out the location specific elements. The result is a design that includes all of the requested tactical elements while creating a fully unique and custom design for CrossFit AxAt.
